CELIA HOWES

Celia Howes joined the firm as an associate attorney in 2007. Celia began her career at Garvey Schubert Barer where she practiced civil litigation and white collar criminal defense. Celia has represented clients in investigations of environmental and tax crimes and has defended prosecutions of conspiracy, fraud, customs violations and a range of blue-collar crimes.

Celia believes that the fairness of the justice system depends upon zealous criminal defense. She is respectful of her clients and sensitive to the emotional and practical hardships imposed by criminal allegations.

Celia was born in Louisiana. She attended Texas A&M University and played for the Fightin’ Texas Aggies Division I volleyball team. Celia graduated Order of the Coif from the University of Oregon School of Law where she was a Wayne Morse Center fellow and Executive Editor of the Oregon Law Review. During law school, Celia worked as a judicial extern at the District Court of Oregon in Eugene and as an intern in Governor Kulongoski’s office.

In her spare time, Celia enjoys cooking, gardening and exploring the Northwest wilderness.
